Surnames: Fischer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YaW.2ACIB/437.1.1.2.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I emailed you directly a very brief note yesterday after much delay. I am sorry it was very short but I was embarrassed that I hadn’t gotten anything off to you and thought I better get something out very quick. With two back- to-back overnight (and many nights) quests and a garden needing planting because all of a sudden the weather changed after a very long snowy winter, I just got too busy and exhausted to do much justice to your information. I did key it all into my database and then went looking for more info now that you provided such great additional information. Knowing the sisters married names made all the difference. I do have one issue with Joseph’s obit that I can’t resolve. The sister Mary is nowhere in the census that I can find. I can find Secilia, Teresa, Margaret (called Maggie), and Barbara but no Mary. Did the obit say where the sisters lived? Were they all in Maryland? BTW-How did your Appolonia Mary Fischer from Maryland meet John Madison Townsend from Kansas? That is very interesting. As I indicated in the first email, I have pictures. My husband’s mother was the keeper of the pictures it seems. I even have a few pictures of people we have no idea who they are. Maybe it is Joseph and Appolonia. Do you have a scanner to send me copies? I can scan the ones I have and send them to you. Do you have any idea what Veromoco’s name is? As I had in the Fischer posting I think it is really Veronica but with German names; there is no telling. The picture I have doesn’t have her name. It just says “Great Grandmother Fischer” and is written in my husband’s grandmother’s handwriting (Mary Teresa Fischer). From that it can only be Frederick’s mother. Also the picture age and the age of the woman would be right to be her. I wish the Chip (my husband) and I had known about the pictures before everyone died. And that was only in January 2001, with the death of Anna Mae Fischer Sutter. She gave up after her husband died in May of 2000. She just decided to die and did. Have you ever been to Maryland to visit the cemetery or do other genealogical research? It was amazing to us that the cemetery is right off I-97 and how many times we have driven by on the way to Annapolis to do research. Maybe Chip’s mother knew her relatives lived in AA Co. and I am sure the his grandmother knew but it was never mentioned that Chip remembers. Most of the family is buried in Most Holy Redeemer in Baltimore. I also have pictures of those tombstones. The Fischer girls all bought lots together with their parents. Chip’s mother is also there in that her ashes were scattered there. Chip’s mother’s paternal family is also there for many generations. These are the Appel’s. I had always though that once I found the death certificates for Frederick and Susan, they would be there too. Can you scan the obit and send a copy of that? If not do you know what paper it was in? I can get a copy easily. BTW-Chip’s has a uncle named for Bernard A. Fischer. He hates the name though. We call him Bern. I look forward to hearing from you again. Jane and Chip jane thursby@mindspring.com Chip and I went by the cemetery Sunday and only found Joesph S. Fischer's marker. Is Appolonia not buried there?
