Surnames: FISCHER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YaW.2ACIB/974 Message Board Post: Am seeking info on my great great grandfather Karl Fischer, born Feb. 24, 1852 in Frienwalde, Pomern, Preusian, Germany. John Fischer was probably his father. Karl had two brothers: James & Charles, and / or six sisters. Karl Fischer changed the spelling of his name to Carl Fisher when he came to America at age 21. On Jan. 28, 1878, he married Bertha Augusta Garska / Gerske in Portage, Wisconsin. They moved to Nebraska and had the following children: Anna Adalia, Rose Maria, William Anton, Martha Helena, Henry, Carl, Benjamin, Elsie, Frank and Mabel. Carl died on Nov. 4, 1903 near Rushville, Nebraska in a horse and wagon accident. I do not have any other info on the father John, or brothers Charles or James, or the sisters.
