My great grandparents were also Joseph S Fischer and Mary Appolonia Schmidt. My grandmother was their daughter Lona (Appolonia) Townsend. I haven't worked on my family tree in quite a while (work has been very demanding for the past several months. I'm so happy to find you! I have talked to Joseph "Buddy" Fischer's wife (must be more than a year ago now). I'll try to pull together the information that I have collected. Seems like I had a couple of other contacts that provided some very good info on our family. Perhaps your posting will get me focused on my family tree again. I sure do enjoy working on it.
