David Gottlob Fischer (1818- approx 1861) married Sibylla Wilhelmine Gimmi (1813 - ?) in Heilbronn Germany in 1845. In 1847 they had a son Gustav Adolf followed by another, Friedrich Robert Fischer in 1849. Wilhelmine and the two boys came to the US in 1851. David Gottlob was already in the States and I believe his profession was that of a cooper.. They had a daughter, Wilhelmine Jacobine Luise in 1852. In about 1855 Wilhelmine returns to Heilbronn and has their last child Johann Ludwig. David Ludwig dies in the US in approx. 1861. His wife remarries Michael Baierbach in Germany in 1862. At least one of his children returns to the US: Johann Ludwig is listed in the 1880 census as a tailor in NYC. In 1882 he married Maria Kissell. In 1883 a daughter is born, Charlotte (my great grandmother). Supposedly he dies in a train accident. Has anyone run across the name of David Gottlob Fischer??? I can trace them back very far in Germany but can't figure out where they were when in ! the US. Any help appreciated.
