There was a Wanderbuch or a pass book for sale today on Eday which journeyman and apprentices used when they travelled from one master to another to learn their trade. They contain a great deal of information about the person and are to say the least a wonderful family treasure. Here is the information I was able to ascertain from ebay auction item as it was posted: Johan Michael Fischer born June 10, 1851 from Grossaspach, district of Backnang, in Wurtemburg. Obviously, he came to America at some time. Hope this posting today will help some future Fischer genealogist make the connection back to Germany. All my best, Bob Behnen Kirksville, Missouri
