Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YaW.2ACIB/437.1.1.2.2.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I found Frederick Fischers and Susan P. Rohr Fischer death certificates and tombstones. Frederick born June 16, 1845 and died Non. 11, 1903 buried in New Cathedral Cemetery in Baltimore. Parents are Thadedus (DC spelling) and Veronica Spertzel. He was born in Bavaria. HIs wife: Susan P. Rohr-born Sept 29, 1849 in Maryland (probably Baltimore City) and died June 11, 1928 in Baltimore. Buried in New Cathedral Cemetery. On visiting their tombstones, I also found Cecelia Fischer buried there. She is their daughter who from family memories had a mental deficiency. She was born Nov. 26, 1875 and died Nov 24, 1951. She always lived with a family member, one of her sisters after her mother died. There were new flowers on the tombstone so there is someone out there who is visiting the grave. I forgot to look for Veronica's death certificate on my last visit to the archives. I most do that in hopes of finding where she is buried. She is not at New Cathedral and it was open before the 1880 census which has her still alive. I am calling the cemetery now to see if they have a contact in hopes of finding who is visiting the grave site.

    1. [FISCHER] FISCHER/SCHAUB
    2. Carol Rogers
    3. Hello to all! My great, great grandfather, ANDREW FISCHER, immigrated to the U.S. from the Offenburg, Baden, Germany area in 1881. His parents were KARL FISCHER and CHRISTINE SCHAUB (one church in the U.S. spelled her name SCHANZ). Andrew came alone to the States, so there's no knowledge of siblings. His parents' names and the listing of Offenburg were filed in Missouri church records. It is my belief that the listing in Germans to America regarding an Andreas Fischer, age 28, who came over from Antwerp on the "Bergenland", arriving in New York on Dec 19, 1881, with listed occupation as a farmer, is his. ANDREW was BORN: April 15, 1853 by gravestone records, but that could have been his "Name Day" as other ancestors of mine had small discrepancies between their U.S. gravestone birthdates and their German baptismal record birth dates. Any help would be appreciated as to the exact town where Andrew emigrated from, or the family that he left behind. I know what happened to him after he arrived in the U.S. and I would be happy to share that info with anyone believed to be his relative. Thank you for considering this request. Carol Rogers
