Things have been so crazy since after Christmas. It's almost impossible to get on the phone with my boys around because they go nuts trying to get me to hang up. Collin will be starting kindergarten in September and hopefully Matthew will be talking by then so that he will be less frustrated and cranky. Let's email back and forth for a while. Tracy

Please note that Hugh had three wifes, not two! We are the offspring of his first wife, Hazel Velma Sammis. Frieda Flack and her sister, Hazel Flack, married Hugh after Hazel Sammis died.

I have just begun research on the family and I am having better luck with Adolph than my ggrandfather. What little research I have done Adolph sailed to the US at the age of 15 and went to Little Rock, Arkansas to stay with William. In 1879 he was working in St. Louis, MO. In 1881, he married Johanna Pfauntz (according to the 1880 census) on May 7, 1881. He and Johanna had one girl and two boys the youngest being Adolph Jr. Do you have any information on their parents by chance. Oh...they were born in Bremen, Germany

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YaW.2ACIB/790.3 Message Board Post: One more thing I forgot to add, I did find a death certificate for Lauritz in Pennsylvania. There are a lot of Greenville's in Pa. so I had to send to several counties. If you'd like to see it, I could scan it and send it to you. Also, a cousin's (Walt Fischer) wife (Gloria) in Salt Lake City took a class in Danish geneology. They told her that, in Denmark, if a family wanted to change their last name, all they had to do was go to the local Parrish and register it and it was done! Apparently in Denmark, there were large plantations and all the people working on those plantations took the owners last name. So, when they left, they often left behind that last name and took one from their own family.
