He was married to Hattie (Danials) and had 11 children at the time, my grandfather LeRoy Wayne Fischer was born later that year. I am looking for information on Charles or Hattie. They were both from Illinois and their parents were from Germany. I was wondering if anyone out there is related or knows who their families are. Thank you. My new e-mail is shannank7@cox.net.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YaW.2ACIB/435.442 Message Board Post: Hi, my grandfather, LeRoy Wayne Fischer has or had a brother named Alvin born about 1929. He was 1 years old on the 1930 census from Platte Co., Nebraska. Their parents were Charles Fischer and Hattie Daniels from Illinois, and there were older siblings-Lillian, Lucille, George, John, Leona, Edward, Ruth, Charles Jr., Hattie, and Christian. This may or may not be the same Alvin. I haven't been able to find out anything about this side of my family. My grandfather is the youngest of the family and "doesn't remember" anything to share. I'd love to find out more if we do happen to be related. My new e-mail is shannank7@cox.net. Good luck.

    3. I'm not sure about very much. I don't know. I do know that he had a son weather it be only child or one of many, but his name was Alouis too and he married twice. Also that Alouis, the son, had two sisters and three (I think) brothers (two of the boys being twins), One named Joseph. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Susbarb@aol.com> To: <FISCHER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 23, 2003 2:50 PM Subject: [FISCHER] Re: Maryland/Fischers > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YaW.2ACIB/557.590.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Did your grandfather marry a lady with the last name of Kipp in Baltimore? > > > ==== FISCHER Mailing List ==== > ----------------- > This is a discussion area for anyone > who has an interest in genealogy or history > related to the FISCHER family > The custodian of this List is James Shuman > FISCHER-admin@rootsweb.com > ----------------- > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 3. HAROLD & JEAN FISCHER --------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Harold J Fischer <haljean5@juno.com> To: FISCHER-D-request@rootsweb.com Date: Tue, 16 Sep 2003 17:41:11 -0400 Subject: Joseph Fischer of Unterkochen, Wurttemberg Message-ID: <20030916.174112.-3828981.1.haljean5@juno.com> Joseph Fischer immigrated to Brooklyn New York around 1865. He married Caroline Tochtermann of Reutinglen, Wurttemberg at the Zion German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, N.Y in 1866. Bcause of the commonality of Joseph Fischer's name I have been having trouble tracing his emmigration from Germany and immigration to Brooklyn, New York. I have successfuly followed Joseph's path in the U.S. via the U.S. Census's of 1880, 1900, and 1910. I have checked the Wurttemberg Emigration Index for Joseph's departure from Germany and found he was not listed. I have written the Lutheran Church in Unterkochen and have had little luck in indentifying his family. It has been suggested that Joseph, although married in the Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, was probably Roman Catholic. Nevertheless, I have not been able to identify him in any of the Unterkochen Church registers. It was suggested by one German researcher that Joseph may have moved from Unterkochen at a very early age and for that reason, he may not be located in the Unterkochen Church Registers. Joseph Fischer was my great grandfather. If anyone can offer a hint as to where else to check for his origins I would appreciate it. Harold

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Fischer/Fisher Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YaW.2ACIB/959 Message Board Post: Johannes Fischer who arrived from Bremen on the Napier, which landed at Baltimore in July of 1835, might be my great-great grandfather. If so he died, with his wife, of cholera, sometime between 1845 and 1855, leaving two young sons who were "bound out" to different families. My great-grandfather, Samuel Fisher, grew up near Lawrence, Kansas, but his birthstate is listed as Ohio. Johannes, who travelled with 10 other young Fischers, ranging in age from 5 (Konigunde), to 36 (Elizabeth), was headed for Ohio. Two questions then: Does anyone have information about this particular Johannes? Has anyone ever heard of "Praferaferaln"? This is the word which follows Place of Origin on the records of all the Fischers who sailed on the Napier.
