I have information that they came to the Perkinstown area on April 3, 1890. The Taylor county WI cenus states that Mrs. Fischer is the mother of 10 children, but only 5 survived. Their children were: Wilhelmina (died as a child) Sadie (Heidmeier) Bertha (Hessing) Emelia (Hirte) Anna Fischer (Durava) Clough---This is my great grandmother Anna was born in Lotuln Westfalen Preussen on December 12, 1882. Emma (died as a child, buried in Perkinstown) Gustav Henrich (Henry Fischer) lived to be elderly Franz. I do not know the name of the 10th child. I have found out quite a bit about the family of Anna Boeckmann and I have her obituary. She died in 1925 and her husband died in 1939. She and Heinrich are buried in Perkinstown, WI. The Ted Fischer family still lives on the original farm of Heinrich and Anna Fischer in Grover Township Taylor County, WI. Anna Fischer had one son on June 19, 1903 from her first marriage to Anton Durava. That son was "Fritz" Durava-my grandfather. His name was americanized to Fred Dorava. Anna then married Ernest W. Clough in 1923 and had several children with him. Ernest (I believe was killed in a War) James Patrick adopted--Barbara

The towns are the same, but the dates are a little early. My Samuel Fischer was born around 1804? He married an Elizabeth Hoffman. Baptismal records for their first born (Amanda Fischer) show his name as Solomon Fischer, but later records list him as Samuel Fisher. The Hoffman's were part of the Hoffman Reformed Church. It is possible they were cousins as everyone seemed to name their children after relatives. It becomes confusing. Let me know if you think this is the same line. Thank you. Karen Fisher Freund

Michael and Magdalena were married in 1792, and their first son, Samuel, was born in 1793. I have no record for a Solomon in my Fischer file, but that's not to say there wasn't one. It appears they later (by 1804) moved up into what is now Schuylkill County. Is this the same family you're researching?

His wife Samantha LAHMAN did have a sister named Cyntharella who more than likely was called Ella. Their parents were William and Rebecca Lahman and can be found in the 1850 OH census and the 1860 and 1870 IN Census for Allen Co. Samantha died in 1887 and Alexander remarried. I have no idea what happened to Rosa. Hope this helps. Linda Fisher

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YaW.2ACIB/997 Message Board Post: I am beating my head against this brick wall, and I hope someone from this list can help in a roundabout way... I am looking for any information about Sterfield MURPHY, or his family or ancestors. All I know about him is that he died in 1873 or 74, and his wife quite possibly died at the same time, leaving at least one orphaned child. I have confilicting information that his wife's name was either A. ELLENDER, or Ella LAYMAN. The child was Rosa (or Rosie or Rosetta) Murphy (also seen as MERPHEY), born in 1871, and she was sent to live with her aunt and uncle Alexander and Samantha FIS(c)HER in Craigsville, IN. I am not sure of the Fisher relationship connection, and can find no documents showing a legal adoption. I would like to know how the Fishers were related to Sterfield, or find any adoption papers. Thanks to all for taking the time to read this, and thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
