What makes me think John Matthias FISCHER might be David's father is because their was a John Fischer who had a German will submitted 23 Feb 1739 Lancaster Co., PA that wasn't translated or copied;therefore, original no longer exists. Also John Matthias Fischer's bro. Johann Sebastian Michael Fischer was in Lancaster Co., PA area. I don't even know which of David's son's Peter (md Catarina Beckel) or Lorentz (md Catarina Boner) that my Jacob and his brother Peter come from (doesn't come from John George Fisher).

He and his brother William Carl (who died in Compton California) immigrated to IOWA from Denmark in about 1881. They stayed in Iowa approx. 6 months and relocated with the rest of their family to Grayling Michigan. Parents were Johan and Martha Katrine Fischer and siblings included William, Rasmine (AKA MINNIE) Otsen, Hedwig Hanson (rasmusson), Marie, Emilie, and Anna. Edward died in North Dakota in 1915. I believe Edward was possible in Wisconsin at some point prior to moving to ND.

Interesting, I have a 1st cousin once removed, Harold Fischer who died earlier this year... I don't think your line is connected but I can't say for sure... Gustina married Hermann Balfanz in Stillwater, MN. about 1881. Gustina was of a large family, also living in Stillwater, MN. Some of Gustina's brothers and cousins were log rollers, first working on the St. Croix River working for lumber companies and then as entertainers. One of the best, Harold Fischer passed away within the last year, The Fischer logrollers have won contests all over the country. I have more names, but it is late and I'm about ready for bed.
