Ernst and Louis were both Lutheran born around 1841 and 1843.

    3. Although I don't have any information on your Fischers, my line may have some connection. My great-grandfather Mathias Henry Fischer relocated from Chicago abt 1908 to Medina twp Dane County WI, married and started a dairy farm. I always thought it odd that a broomaker's son from Chicago would uproot and get into farming without any existing family ties to the area. His wife's (Caroline Stangler) family were well established in Jefferson county and eastern Dane. 1. MATHIAS HENRY2 FISCHER (?1) was born Abt. 1861 in Illinois, and died June 29, 1930. He married MARY STROH Bet. 1881 - 1882, daughter of JOHN STROH and MARIA. She was born Abt. 1862 in Illinois, and died May 20, 1934. Children of MATHIAS FISCHER and MARY STROH are: 2. i.     3. Hello, My Gr-Gr-Grandfather was LUDWIG FISCHER, his wife was GUSTA BERG. They are the parents of my Gr-Grandmother, GUSTINA WILHELMINA FISCHER- BALFANZ, she was born June 21, 1862 in GERMANY, I don't know the Kreis or the village. Sooooooo...........LUDWIG was maybe born about twenty years or more before GUSTINA. I know she had many siblings although I don't know the line, yet. GUSTINA settled in Stillwater, MN. where she married HERMAN BALFANZ and had twelve children, all have passed. HERMAN was from Pomerania, Flakenheide, Prussia. I'm interested to hear if you know of this FISCHER. Were there many FISCHER's in Mannheim, Germany? Waiting and hoping for a relationship, somewhere. Best Regards, Judy in MN

    3. I am not sure that you addressed this to me but will reply anyway. My Grandfather was Albert Leopold Fischer and came over in 1884. He married a Wilhelmine Schramm. They had four children, Fredrich A., Anna E., Wilhelm C., and Arthur L.
