Laura, <<<Dusti, bet me that your Jacob is the son of my Jacob! I know very little about my Jacob except that he was at the very bottom of Somerset Co, PA on the Maryland state line. (This is a point that is within a few miles of WV too!) His daughter, Katherine , was born in 1817 and married Israel Shoemaker. (my ancestor) They are burried in Fink's Church Cemetery. His daughter, Deborah, married Samuel Elrick. (this is a controversary because some of the family say she was not a Fink, but a Cook) Samuel was born 6 Mar 1823. They are burried at Mt. Lebannon Cemetery in Northampton Twp, Somerset Co, PA. >>> Now the challenge is to prove it. Do you have any church records that would show the births of your Jacob's children and/or probate or land records that would show your Jacob's heirs? I hope I can get thru this brick wall. I'm presently at the office, but will check dates at home tonight. I do recall that my Jacob FINK married on 10 Aug 1843 Catharine WOOLEY in Marion County, Ohio. The both died in Indiana and are buried there. Dusti

Hi Dusti Seems like you and I are pretty stuck with our FINKs....:( we spoke a long time ago and I have not budged an inch with John Fink's history. I wish I could help you but anything is possible....but it sounds like your Jacob Fink might have been born more western PA thereby going to OH and winding up in IN whereby my John Fink I believe was born more eastern PA and wound up in NY. Good Luck and good to hear from you again Marie
