Born August 29, 1938 in Sutersville, PA, he was the son of Glenn and Vivian (Addy) Findley. Gene retired from General Motors after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Mansfield Power Squadron, Port Clinton Elks, Amvets Post 31, and Galion Moose Club. Gene enjoyed spending time at his place on Catawba Island and fishing and boating on Lake Erie. He truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Deanna Findley of Mansfield, Ohio; sons, Dale (Kathy) Findley of Highland, MI, David (Janna) Findley of Murfreesboro, TN, and Doug (Mary) Findley of Galloway, OH; grandchildren, Heath Findley, Natalie Findley, Erika Findley, and Braylon Findley; sister, Gail Goodfellow of West Newton, PA; brother, Gerry Findley of San Antonio, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario, Ohio. Friends may call prior to the service from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
