Live in Guilford County, NC, married George Christmon(Crismon). She and husband are buried at Apple's Chapel in Guilford County, NC. Her family may have been originally from the Orange Co area, as Guilford was part of Orange Co. I did find a William Findley (born 1770) in the 1810 census but they did not list women and children's name in the census at that time. Mary and George's eldest son was named William Riley. A family story has his father Richard Findley from Ireland and his mother, name unknown, from Germany and they met on the ship on their way over. Smallwood had 6 brothers all older, and no sisters. His mother died 3 days after his birth and his father gave Smallwood and brother Jep to a foster family named May and kept the other 5 boys. I actually found Richard Findley born 1786 SC If Richard Findley, Smallwood's father was a 7th son, he had 6 older brother but uncertain if there were other siblings as well.
