    3. Thank-you Christine and Nicola for your advice. What you have had to say is very valuable, and I will request some LDS Fiji records. I've been looking through the newspaper records on the Trove website, and found accounts of the trial of Patrick SCANLON for murder in Fiji in 1877. Patrick had severely beaten a young Solomon Islands man who died a short time later. SCANLON was found not guilty at the trial, but the judge let it be known that he disagreed with the verdict. It was an all-white jury, and an obvious gross travesty of justice. There are also a couple of online books that comment on the trial and its aftermath. It would be interesting to view Fiji newspaper reports of the murder and trial. Are there any websites that have images or transcriptions from Fiji newspapers of that time? Regards Lee
