I'm posting again then back into the 'lurkers corner'. Still searching for information on Ebenezer FIELDS (bd circa 1770-76 place unknown). Have two possibilities. Perhaps someone out there can shed some light. The first official record of Ebenezer Fields is where he is found on the 1797 Bourbon Co., KY Tax list along with Benjamin Fields. POSSIBILITY ONE: Several references have come to light of the family of Richard Fields of Monongalia Co., WV who was killed by Indians in Scioto Valley, OH. His heirs are listed at Benjamin and Ebenezer Fields. POSSIBILITY TWO: There is a George Field (bd circa 1757 Providence, RI) who married Prudence Whipple on 4-13-1775 in Harwick, Worcester, MA. Their fourth child is Ebenezer Fields (bd8-9-1783 Harwick, Worcester, MA). Are there any lurkers out there who can shed some light on either of the above for me (and about two dozen others who are researching this particular line). Liz Freeman In Oklahoma!
Dear "Cousin" Elaine, Though I do not see any connections between our Field(s) lines, you may want to direct your search toward the Doddridge and Texarkana areas of Arkansas. My family of Field, Dodd, Brown, and others came to this area from Georgia and many are buried at cemeteries near Doddridge. Since it has been a while since I posted my line, let me give you what little information I have. *Joseph Taylor Brown b. 10 Sep 1887, Doddridge, Miller, AR; d. 26 Nov 1959, Benton, Bossier, LA; m. 27 Aug 1911 Lillie Grace Reed oldest of three sons (no daughters) of *William Lovelace (Love) Brown, farmer, b. 8 Jan 1865, Macon, Bibb, GA; d. 9 Jul 1939, Doddridge, Miller, AR; interred 10 Jul 1939, Mt. Zion Cemetery, Doddridge, Miller, AR; m(2) Effie _____; m. 18 Nov 1886, by Willie J. Simmons, J.P., Doddridge, Miller, AR *Laura Augusta Field, b. 19 Nov 1868, LaFayette County, AR; d. 30 Jul 1923, Bossier City, Bossier, LA; interred Forest Park Cemetery, Shreveport, Caddo, LA Love Brown was the fourth child of William Brown of South Carolina; William had two children by his first marriage (wife unknown), Jane who was born in Philadelphia, PA, and Elizabeth who was born in Atlanta, GA. His third child Joseph Edward and his fourth child Love both migrated to Doddridge where Joe was a grocery merchant. More info and dates available if interested. Laura Field was the sixth child of Champion Taylor Field and his first wife, Rillia Ann Matilda (Millie) Dodd. *Champ Field, b. 31 Jul 1825, Red Oak, GA or Pickens Cty, SC (conflicting info); d. 1908 Doddridge, Miller, AR; interred Mt. Zion Cemetery, Doddridge; m(2) Nancy Caroline Sexton; m(3) Sara Savage; m. 5 Oct 1856, Fayette Cty, GA *Millie Dodd, b 6 Sep 1839, Fayette County, GA; d. 1870, Doddridge, Miller, AR Champ Field was the second child and oldest son of John Fields, b. c. 1781 and Elizabeth _____, b. c. 1790, SC. Elizabeth may have been the daughter of Champ Taylor (thus my grandfather's middle name) listed in the 1820 census of Pendleton Cty, SC, but this link is nebulous. Their other children were 1. Malinda Ann, b. c. 1825, d. 29 Dec 1898, m(1) Stevens, m(2) 20 Dec 1852 Martin P. McEachern, m(3) Isaac Stone; 3. Adeline E., b. c. 1827 SC 4. Issiah M., b. c. 1829 SC Millie Dodd was the second of twelve children born to *Edwin/Edward Ruthwin Dodd, b. 17 Nov 1817/1819, Union District, SC (to Edward Dodd and Jane Langston), d. Bright Star, Miller, AR m. 25/26 Nov 1835, Fayette County, GA Elender/Ellender (Nelly) Pat, b. c. 1818 (8 Nov 1817) GA Records for this family have many omissions, many discrepancies, much conflicting data. Good luck in your search.

Hi All - I am pretty fortunate in that my grandfather Harris Goodwin Field just made it into Pierce's flawed but useful text (Harris was born in 1897) so I don't have any real questions about my genealogy. I would, however, be very interested to know if there are any other descendants of my ggg grandfather Seth Pierce Field (1791, Mansfield, CT) among the subscribers to this list. Back to lurk mode.... =========================== Keith Field [email protected]
I am forwarding this message for the below person. Noel ------------------- From: [email protected] I am searching for my gggrandmother Mary Elizabeth (Mollie) Fields. I do not know her parents or siblings names. I do know that she came from MO. She married William T. Nichols and the names of her children were: Otis, Dora, Ritta, Jewel, Ruby, William (Bill), Dow, Lovie, Mary Ethel, and Ida Bell. She and William raised their family in the Wise Co., Montague Co., area of TX. Any help would be appreciated, Mary Elizabeth is such a common name that I am having a difficult time finding her family. Thanks, Carol Vanzant Mattison
I am looking for information on my great grandfather. John Field(s). I have conflicting birthdates for him. 1845, 1848 & 1850. He married Martha Jane Maxwell in Co. Donegal, Ireland February 4, 1871. They immigrated to the US May 1871. I have info on Martha's family but very little on Johns. I am told that the name was Field and the "s" was added when they came to the US. His father was John Field b. 1822 (?) mother Audry. Any further info would be appreciated. Thanks Becci

Searching for the parents of my GGGgrandmother, Rebecca FIELDS, who was born in 1805 probably in Kentucky (maybe Virginia). Rebecca married George Price CLAYTON 7 November 1822 in Pendleton County, KY. Shortly after their second child was born in 1825, they moved to Crawford County, Illinois, where they had 6 more children. George died and Rebecca married William Washington RASH in Crawford County, Illinois on 9 July 1840. William and Rebecca had 3 more children. In the 1820 Census of Pendleton County, KY, there are two Fields families, Matthew and John FIELDS. In 1820, Rebecca would be 15-16 so perhaps, could belong to either family (or neither). Matthew FIELDS has a "White female age 16 to 18" and John FIELDS has a "White female age 10 to 15" *From the Census 22 26 Fields Mathew 1 1 0 0 1 0 4 0 0 1 0 0 1 23 1 Fields John 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 1 Does anyone recognize these FIELDS families? Hi, I would like to welcome all our new subscribers that Randell listed. Great to have you. I would also like to say to Randell, "You have been great and we will miss you as List manager. Glad you will still be on as a member, though." To Noel: Welcome, new list manager. Glad to have you. I know you will do a good job. My Best, Connie Eppes
I would like to first thank all the people that have written to welcome me as the new mail list manager. I appreciate all that support! Randall has started a wonderfull mailing list here, we have a lot of members, and I think we can definitely help each other out, finding those elusive Field(s) that are hiding out there. I will be posting my Fields lineages that I am looking for tomorrow hopefully (need to organize it a bit first), and I would ask that everyone send their lineages out (there are a lot of people new to the list, that might just have some info for you). Thats enough for now <smile> Time to enjoy that genealogy bug! Noel Fields

I am new to this list and this is my first post. I am looking for the parents of Edna Fields (b: ca 1800, MS/Ireland) who married John McGee ca 1815 in Ireland or KY. Before she passed away, Mrs. Josie (Worthy) Holman stated that both Edna Fields and John McGee were born in Ireland and were probably married there. However, census records show that John was born in KY (ca 1790) and that Edna was born in MS. It is likely that they did return to Ireland for a short period, since census records show their second child Sophia to have been born in Ireland about1818. This family lived in Warren Co., KY near Bowling Green until about 1825 when they moved to Marion Co., AL. From there, they moved to Winston Co., MS, settling on a farm near the small community of Plattsburg near the Winston/Neshoba county line. There is a possibility that Jesse Fields (in Winston Co., MS as early as 1807) was a relative of Edna's. John and Edna named their oldest son Jesse Brown McGee. I would very much like to hear from anyone having additional information on these families. Michael K. Hendrix Pasadena, TX
