    3. Whoa, did I miss a post? I have been searching for information regarding Pearson (Pierce) Fields and Martha Jane Fields who married in Pickens County, GA in 1853. They had a son NATHANIEL Jackson Fields. Does anyone know if there is a connection with the Nathaniel Fields in Ruth Fields' book? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Carole

Children in family tree: Lou Fields married Charles Hiers William Perry Fields married Oscie Allen : they lived in Sanford, FLA. Charles Cornelius Fields married Lula Jane Ogden: they lived in Odum, GA. Ella Fields married Sam Claton John Fields married Martha Carter (John was half-brother to Charles) an unknown sister (full sister to John) I would love to hear from any type of relative of this family. 3. Lydia Julian was married first to: JOSEPH Fields (not James or William). Our family has a Bible record proving that Joseph was her correct spouse. She married William Armfield after Joseph's death. The children listed on the FTM disc you mentioned are her children with JOSEPH.

    3. In our Fields family, we have a William Fields, born 1794 supposedly in Gwinnett Co., GA. He married a Jane DAVIDSON in about 1815 in Henderson Cty., KY. William died in 1853 and is buried in North Fork Cem., Macon Co., (I assume IL). Jane Davidson was born in Union Co., SC in 1796 and died in 1853. She is buried in the same cemetary. It seems like quite a coincidence that this is a Fields who married a Davidson as well. Maybe there is a connection.

Thanks, Sandra in Oklahoma. 1 Henry DeGraffe FIELD, b: December 04, 1841 in Delhi, New York. Settled early in the State of New York, and lived there in revolutionary times, and before that, at Delhi, in that state. Migrated from Delhi, New York, to Jersey County, Illinois and learned the telegraph business under Samuel F.B. Morse, the inventor. At the beginning of the Civil War, he enlisted in the Confederate Army and fought at Pea Ridge under Gerneral Sterling PRICE and other engagements in the State of Arkansas between the armies of the North and the South. In 1880 he removed from Jerseyville, Illinois, to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, where he engaged as a grocery merchant from that date until his death in 1901. 3. Dear Pat <[email protected]> My [deceased husband's] FIELDS family lived in Russell County, Virginia as did a "few" of yours. I think that means that our FIELDS could have been related. I am sending cc's of this to the other FIELDS researchers mentioned below. Maybe we can all help each other. I thought it interesting that the name "Cummings" occurs in your FIELDS line as as it does in my FIELDS line. Dr. John Davidson FIELDS' [your husband's gggrandfather's] youngest sister, named Alice Cummings FIELDS- b. 1850, marr. Capt. William Thomas Baldwin, d.1919. They were 2 of the 8 children born in Abingdon, VA to your William and Elizabeth DAVIDSON FIELDS. More info follows. Looking forward to hearing from you, Pat. Good luck! Mary Kay COLE Ward<[email protected]> Richmond,VA My husband descended from [his ggggrandfather] Richard FIELDS b abt 1749 Augusta, VA and Hannah CRABTREE Fields b abt 1760 New London, Bedford Co., VA. thru their son Crabtree FIELDS b. ca 1800 in Russell Co., VA and his wife Malinda BELCHER who lived in Russell County, VA. Crabtree & Malinda BELCHER FIELDS had 11 children, the first 5 were born in Virginia and the rest born in Lawrence Co., Ohio. Their first born child was James Cummings FIELDS b 1827 in VA. Their 9th child was my husband's ggrandfather, William Russell FIELDS [known as Russell] b. abt 1845 in Lawrence County, Ohio who married there 18 Apr 1866 Mary DELAWDER. He was just 2 years younger than your William FIELDS. Tom is trying to find the parents of our progenitor, Richard FIELDS b abt 1749 Augusta Co., VA and where he lived before he appeared in Russell County. Tom said the first account he has of Richard FIELDS is that he lived in Rich Valley in Washington County in 1781. Richard Fields is on the 1790 Russell County, VA Personal Property Tax List. Tom is also trying to verify the name of Richard's wife [ie. Frances _?_ or Hannah [Crabtree?]. The first child born to Crabtree FIELDS after the family moved from VA to Lawrence County, Ohio was named Hannah. Tom thinks that Crabtree FIELDSÂ’ mother's name was Hannah CRABTREE, but he says there are still some questions to be answered about this. Mike FIELDS< [email protected]> a retired school admin. lives in Coal Grove, Lawrence County, Ohio. Robert [Rob] Crabtree <[email protected]> descended from Richard FIELDS thru Squire FIELDS thru his dau. Orpha Fields, born March 23, 1810; died December 5, 1893 in Washington County, VA who married James S. Crabtree. 2. I am trying to establish my ancestor with the Field line. Her name was Elizabeth born 1751-64 died 1808 Jefferson Co. KY. She married Joseph Cromwell he was born 1744 Anne Arundel Co. MD and died 1807 Jefferson Co. KY. I am decended from their son William Fielding Cromwell. My clues that she may be a Field are from the court records from Jefferson Co. In 1804 Lewis Field requested 150 acres be made to Joseph Cromwell for $1.00. In 1807 Abraham Field and Lewis Field were sureties for Elizabeth Cromwell when Joseph died. In 1808 Abraham Field was also a sureties when Elizabeth died along with her sons-in-law. Also after the death of both Joseph and Elizabeth I think Lewis Field was a bondsman for their daughter's marriage. I also found Joseph Cromwell in Culpepper Co. VA during the 1780's some of their children were born in VA. I would appreciate any information anyone could give me. Marie

Field and might have the names of his brothers and sisters? "Joseph T. Field, was born in Madison Co., Virginia, on the 17th of Dec. 1798. Emigrated with his father to Bourbon Co.,KY in the year 1800. Removed to Clay Co., MO in the year 1837, and has resided here ever since. In the old division of parties was a Whig. Not disfranchised." 3. You asked about Alexander and Abner Field-- maybe IN.? It may be to your advantage that I kept much old copies from LDS and otherwise. Look thro these often still hopeful for my search, although, this is not 'my search, yet', I pass it on to you. Ruth Fields Dodd, made quite a family history of the Ansel Fields and Wife, Martha [Patty] Dodd family. I have several copied pages, but cant tell you what book. must be of Va, but possible Guilford, or Rockingham N.C. You will need to look for her. In case you have missed this: she covers Nathanial [three of them] Field [s]. the first was Nat and Mary of Hanover Co VA., with son Ansel, [anselna, ancil] b 1749. He had brothers John and Nelson, appearing that they all moved together; ending up in IN or MO. Ansel had son Allen, among 12 ch, who moved first from Guilford N.C. to Shelby IN. Ansel himself moved late to IN. His wife Martha and a dau Sarah, died at son ABNER home, in Shelby IN. 1848 and 1860 respectively. Ansel's rev war #W10021, served Guilford NC. records are also found in Rockingham and Rowan counties....... Allen and wife Nancy Lavina Duree, had son Robert Alexander. ALLEN IS BURIED BUSBY CEM N/W OF LUCERN MO. WITH SEC WIFE, MARTHA... all of this and much more is found in the "Ansel Fields and wife Martha Dodd history. by Ruth Fields Dodd." AND AMONG the LDS IGI note that I should have tossed long ago, seems connected, AS IT APPEARS TO BE Ansel's brother Nelson ch b in IN. Nelson Fields and Jane: Andrew C. b 1860, George b 1850, Joseph b 1857, OTHER INDIANA BIRTHS: Robert Fields and Jane's Viletta b 1880; William Fields and Jane's Hansford b 1831, Sarah A. b 1833 George W. FIELD and Jane's George R. b 1848 Jemima S. b 1845 everyone had a Jane? Dont take this to be complete on this line; of either the LDS IGI or the Ruth Fields Dodds info. just to lead you there! but one other that might well be Ansel's brother John's off spring is James H. FIELDS b 1839 Shelby IN to John and Mary. AND FOR THE SEARCH of John Wesley FIELD [S]: have you looked Hazard, Perry Ky., where I find Eliza b 1868, Robt L. b 1891 and Rebecca b 1897 all to Wesley C. and Charlott Melton and Susan Whitaker. also in that county is Sallie b 1858 and James A. b 1822 to James Field and Eliza Standafer [alia James A. and Elizabeth Stevens]. AND THIS FROM OLD MAIL TO HELp IN THE Melinda FIELD [S] search: [email protected], letter of Apr 2, in ans to Krystine, speaks of John W. Fields b 1805 NC married Malinda Riddle had children births and deaths in MO., among the ch b, TN and MO, she lists dau Melinda, -1871 - 1943, as unm. TO MOST OF YOU THIS IS MUMBO BUT TO OTHERS, IT MAY BE A BIG LETTER..from betty......from IL.
