First let me apologize for my reply that the "British have never left Ireland". It was meant as an off the cuff reply to a simple remark "The British left Ireland in 1922". There was no further information with that remark. I also apologize for my tardy response. A week away proved interesting. And yes the Brits in Ireland is genealogy related. Many people are tracing both Irish/British roots. It was also not, I repeat not an attack on Ellen Nabiloff. She appears quite competent and has helped many others with her posts. To Ellen, I apologize. To any others who would like to challenge my statement that the British are indeed still firmly entrenched in the Irish countryside, politics and culture, please email me privately. I hope this does not in any way jeopardize the ongoing peace process currently underway in Ireland. Again to any I offended, I apologize. Sean Flannery New Jersey USA
