The Clogher Historical Society New Millennium Project is a non-profit historical research project based at St. Macartan's College, Monaghan. The Society is trying to trace all of the genealogical work being done on families who originated in the Diocese of Clogher, covering Monaghan, Fermanagh, and south Tyrone. The director is Brian MacDonald, e-mail chs@tinet.ie and Brian says that while they are not a genealogical research centre, they are interested in any information regarding emigrants from that part of Ireland and their experiences in the New World, and would be happy to advise people trying to complete research. This is the only Irish project I know of that is interested in having information about the emigrant families "repatriated" to them and I think it is a wonderful idea. I hope we will see many more such projects as time goes on, and that everyone researching the Clogher Diocese will be generous in sharing their research and helping the Society. Kathleen.
