I have signed up for the Intermediate Genealogy class starting Monday on VU, but there are a few things I don't understand. I need a mentor. 1. It told me to download a Browser. Does this mean that AOL's browser won't work? (I will be getting the class through my AOL account.) 2. There was a note about Chat in there somewhere that directed me to download Chat software and then, with a note about how easy it was (!/!), there were about 4 pages of scary-looking instructions. I haven't tried yet. Would someone like to reassure me, or tell me I don't really need to do this. 3. I have been subscribing to FIANNA because of the Irish information. What exactly is Fianna? Is a venue for members of a previous VU class to communicate? There seem to be notes about people getting together elsewhere for sharing. Can someone clarify this for me. 4. I have visited the Fianna webpage. Is the material there mostly the result of the classwork of previous class members? Are there other questions I am too ignorant to ask that someone would like to fill me in on? (excuse clump of dangling propositions) Thanks for helping.
