In order to attend classes, you should be able to use your browser to go to the java chat, unless you're in Windows 3.xx rather than Win95. But to get to Fianna Study Group meetings, assuming you're in the Fianna study group, you DO need IRC software. Most of us use mIRC. There are links to lots of places with instructions and explanations on http://www.geocities.com/~fiannag/find.html > >3. Cloudy started the Fianna-L so fennidi (explained at link below) could continue to communicate good sites, problems and successes, etc. chirho tends to try to keep everybody chuckling, so it sweetens the taste when she has to bark at folks to get busy and sign up for things! We've grown quite a bit beyond that, however, and hopefully more folks will do more genealogy on the list :) On the Fianna Hideaway site there is an explanation of who we are and how we came to be. http://www.geocities.com/~fiannag/ipig.html > >4. Fianna: Irish History and Ancestry at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/4404/ was our first effort. It's mainly links which we gathered as a project. JCowan put the whole thing into its current state. FIANNA Hideaway and Guide to Irish Research is the product of several additional groups. Yes, most of the material there represents projects done for Marthe's classes. The surname center was not, and some of the other pages, plus the counties were donated by one member. We're rather proud of it, and keep working on it :) > >Are there other questions I am too ignorant to ask that someone would >like to fill me in on? I'll send this to the list, so anyone else who's curious can see the answers :) Peace. chirho >Thanks for helping. > >Anne > > > > chirho@prodigy.net http://www.hoseahouse.org http://www.geocities.com/~hoseahouse/genealogy/index.html http://www.geocities.com/~fiannag/index.html
