According to our family records, my great-grandfather, Thomas Morris was born in 1833 in County Galway. He was the son of Michael Morris and Mary Shaughnessy. The local records center in Galway found record of a Michael Morris, born 1843 and William Morris, born 1850 in Rathfee Townland, Lackagh Parish to a Michael Morris and Mary Shaughnessy. They also found an “Eleanor Morris” born 1858 in Tysaxon Townland, Athenry Parish, to a Michael Morris and Mary Shaughnessy. This “Eleanor Morris would probably not be a sibling of my Thomas Morris, since Thomas was born in 1833, and 1833 to 1858 spans 25 years. Unfortunately, records do not exist for earlier than 1842 for Lackagh Parish or earlier than 1852 for Athenry Parish. They did not see any record of the marriage of Michael Morris and Mary Shaughnessy in the Galway East records. If I have the right Michael and Mary, I would like to find the names, and birthdates and deathdates of Michael Morris and Mary Shaughnessy. I would also like to know if Michael Morris and William Morris (and Eleanor (?!?) )are really siblings of my great-grandfather Thomas. I am stalled. What should I do next?
