thanks for the offer Laura,here goes ,DOMINICK GAVAN/GAVIN a farmer from either Ballina Mayo or Ballina Tipperary (he didnt say which) married an Elizabeth McCann or McGuinn (both names are on different documents) Dominick also appears as Donald on another cert ,so it is very difficult to know where to look,their son John came to Australia and was married in 1862 he was born in1812,there are a number of John Gavan/Gavins who came here both as freemen and convicts so it is most important for me to find out just where John came from so that I can identify just which one is ours.
