Hi again guys, Talking about Spam brought something else to mind. A couple of months ago chirho, Jeanne or Cloudy posted a letter to the list. Sorry guys I can't remember which one of you posted and I want to give credit wherever credit is due and you three usually keep us informed of general web happenings. The letter had been posted to a newsgroup by the editor of Family Chronicles Magazine and concerned Spam. It was about how spammmers crashed the old Maiser lists etc.,etc. Anyway my Family Chronicles arrived the next day with the complete article and I meant to post to the list then (I don't think the following was mentioned in the short post to the ng) but it slipped my mind. Maybe some of the rest of you have thought of this, but frankly I hadn't. Every now and then one runs across a letter on a newsgroup or list which is just completely irrational or totally obnoxious. Most of us don't answer these letters because we don't want to start a flame although sometimes it is really difficult not to respond. I have always assumed that these ppl had some sort of a problem (although 99% of the internet commmunity are generous, kindly, sharing folks, we have all run across the other 1%). Any way this is one of the ploys that spammmers use to build their list of victims. Next time you see one of these posts think carefully before you responding!! TTYL The 3rd Rig aka possum
