Dear Jim i live in Killarney in Victoria in Australia. This area has been serviced by a hotel that was originally built in the 1850;s and was little more than an Inn. some years ago a couple bought the hotel and had plans drawn up to make a great big Killarney Castle. They were going to have helicopters fly in and tourists everywhere........it was of great amusment to the 100 odd locals who were surrounded in acres of Potatoes and crops. Now I know this is not the Killarney Castle that you are seeking - but I had to have a chuckle when i read this. seriously - I would look at Killarney in Ireland. in all the years I as doing my research on my elusive Sheedy family - my mother neglected to tell me that the property we lived on was called Birdhill. When she finally did after about 8 years and 8 years of NEVER locating anything relevant on Old Pat - I laughed - and thought it was because of the seagulls [we live near a beach]. Two years later I learnt the painful lesson of paying attention to clues when I finally located the birth record of my Pat at - yes - Bird Hill in Ireland!!
