A genealogy mail list is a service provided to allow you to ask questions of others and help answer the questions asked. The list maintainer normally has just as little information on specific questions as do regular list members. The only thing the list maintainer is there to do, is to maintain mailing addresses, keep the list flowing, throw in a question to cause conversation when there is a slump in mail, get rid of flamers, and help you subscribe and unsubscribe. Maintainers are not here as a question and answer board. If you are lucky the maintainer might know something about the answer. This is not the list maintainers list, but yours! It is up to you to help each other and succeed success in your research. When you are at a wall or frustrated , we (the list) want to hear. We are here for encouragement! We are all in this together. When you don't get an answer to your question, don't be upset! Wait a week or two and repost it, you never know when someone new has joined our list, and might just know the answer. Many of us save letters of unanswered questions and ask other lists at times on behalf of you, who wrote the question. You just have to be patient. Thanks Laura
