If anyone has a copy or has access to a copy of the book "Irish Surnames" by Wolf, would you kindly check out the surname GAVAGAN for me? I've been pounding away at this for three years and have come up empty. Any tidbit at all would be welcome. I don't know what name it originally came from or is most closely linked to; I don't know its ancient name, and I don't know from which county in Ireland it sprang. In short, I know nothing.
