    1. [FIANNA-L] Hyland Help
    2. Sharon Goetz
    3. I am looking for a James Hyland born in the 1750's possibly somewhere in Ireland, but migrated to America prior to 1788. I have him in 1788 in Kent County, MD. He had a son, Henry Miles Hyland, (1796-1851) who married a Mary Maria Grant in 1820 in Kent County, MD. My grandmother only told us that her Hyland family was Irish so I don't know where they came from. I feel that Henry Miles Hyland may have been named (Miles) after a grandparent. James Hyland 1750's-1832 was a blacksmith and I feel also that maybe he was transported to US and indentured himself out to learn the blacksmith trade and passage. I have not found any ships passenger list showing him coming to US. I can not find any church records showing a birth or baptism of a James Hyland born about this time span so I think he was probably born somewhere in Ireland. I did find a James Hyland (22) who was transported and served 4 years to a Nicholas Painter of AA Co. in 1684, much too old to be the James Hyland I am looking for. (from Middlesex Qtr. Sessions) I can't find out what even happened to this James Hyland after his 4 years was served, maybe he returned to Ireland or maybe he married and started a family in the US, but I can not find any information on him. I have been working on this family for 3 years and keep coming to a brick wall. I have researched all the Hyland families up and down the east coast of US and can not find any connection to any of the families, which is why I believe that he was born outside of the US. Any help with will be most appreciated. Thank you so very much. Sharon Goetz [email protected] ch. Sharon Goetz [email protected] =20
