    1. Re: [FIANNA-L] Villages in Tipperary
    2. in ireland parishes are mostly made up of TOWNLANDS these are rural areas, bog, grazing, farming and open fields. they all had names and you would not know one from the other only that you would stop a a local farmhouse and ask the names of the townlands in the area. there are over 80,000 of them in ireland and thats why you wont find them on most maps. most are not near any town or city but are out in the boondocks MOYNEARD A TOWNLAND of 711 acres in the PARISH OF MOYNE AND IN THE POOR LAW UNION OF THURLES IN COUNTY TIPPERARY. THE ABOVE INFORMATION COMES FROM THE 1851 INDEX TO TOWNS, TOWNLANDS AND PARISHES OF IRELAND. for a map of this area call 515 232 1070 and tell them you want the discovery map that would cover the area around thurles in county tipp. you may need to buy two maps
