Dick, Current Catholic parish names in Clare are available on the Clare portion of IrelandGenWeb. Parish and townland names have changed over time in many instances. I suggest the following books which discuss some of the older names: The History and Topography of the County of Clare From the Earliest Times to the Beginning of the 18th Century, by James Frost, 1893 the Samuel Lewis book entitled something like " A Topographical Atlas of Ireland" the Ignatius Murphy set of books on Clare covering the 19th century, written as a Killaloe parish history. For the exact titles, consult the archives of this mailing list, which will also have another book written as a parish history of the southwestern part of Clare and is very detailed on parish priests and some parishioners.
