What is Ballymena? The State? > I need clairification on these places. My post had to do with County Mayo, I have never done any research in County Antrim, but if I was starting to, the first place I would go would be the 1851 Townland Index which lists each townland found in the 1851 Ireland census. Once I found the townland, I would then know what barony, civil parish and poor law union the townland was found. Luckily it is online at: http://www.seanruad.com Also, Proni has a good geographical website with maps at: http://www.proni.gov.uk/ Go to the Geographical Index at: http://www.proni.gov.uk/geogindx/geogindx.htm Once you know the civil parish, you can click on Parish, find your parish and you will get a map of the county with the parish colored in so you can see where it is locate plus you will get a list of all the townlands found in the parish. Good luck. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
