His death certificate listed Michael Brady as his father. There were many variations on the spelling of his last name. Our first documented evidence of him is from 1862 when he was wounded in battle during the Civil War at the Battle of Perryville, Kentucky (10/08/1862. We're attempting to find information regarding his immigration into the United States from Ireland. Family stories state that he was born in County Cork, but we have no documentation of that other than written comments from his children. Do you have any suggestions about where I should direct my research? I would so appreciate any help that you can give me. We are at such a dead end. Thank you, Mary Jane

    2. Kevin, May I say that I do admire your skill. The drawing is absolutely wonderful. I think you captured the times and also the dignity that the Irish had. My Irish came over forty or more years later, but I have always been proud how the Irish helped form our Country. Thank You.. 3. Well done Kevin! While their lives appear to be spartan and drab indeed, the family is probably much better off than they would have been in Ireland at that time. At least they have some hope for a better future. 1. [FIANNA-L] Donegan's
    2. Hello Everyone, I am new to this list. I was wondering if anyone could help me get a little further in my research. I've hit a brick wall. Here is what I have so far, mostly from the 1900 US Census in NEw Jersey. My g-grandfather, Jeremiah Donegan, and his wife, Ellen (I'm not positive that they were married when they emigrated), emigrated to the US in 1877. Jeremiah's parents, J_____? and Margaret, then emigrated with 2 of their daughters, Margaret and Hannah, in 1879. Margaret states that she was the mother of 11 children, 8 of whom were still alive in 1900. All were born in Ireland. Here are their birthdates as stated on the census: J______? Jan 1827 (could be Joseph but I can't make it out for certain) Margaret Mar 1831 Margaret Sep 1871 Hannah May 1878 Jeremiah Dec 1859 Ellen May 1860 Any help would be much appreciated. I haven't been able to get any farther than this. I've tried searches for these Donegan's in the Irish databases, ship's lists, etc. Thank you Mary

We NEVER send such idiotic emails! We would never include a postal address either. We are in dispute with a web site over a copyright issue and this is their way of getting back at us! I'd be obliged if you let your list(s) know about this. thanks for letting us know," best regards, Michael.
