You might try getting a search done in the biographical notice "index" to Munster newspapers by Rosemary ffollitt (note: that is the spelling of her surname and the "index" is actually the notices in alphabetical order). It covers 1800 and back to some time in the 1790s. I was able to do my own review of the microfiche at the Genealogical Office in Dublin this past February, through the good luck of saying something to the right person at the right time. The G.O. is not open to the general public, but you might be able to pay for a search of the Sheedy listings. It may not cost much, since I did all the Carberry (I found a good one, in 1803) and Donnellan listings in only 15 minutes, once I got the fiches into the reader. The only other place currently known to have the index is the Limerick Regional Archives, which is the name for the county family heritage center, the one sponsored by the Irish government and which charges for searches. If you need the full title of the index, I can get it from my notes. Sharon Carberry Researching Carberry, Donnellan, Tynan, Hehir, Cunneen, and Connell
You need to give listing of FHL's M/F's #'s covering the Bethune Abstracts. Sir William Bethune made sketch pedigrees of the Wills, showing the wife and children mentioned and if possible who the kids married. There are also some films for the actual abstracts. If you need help I can look up the film #'s. Bill Coles
I have found one of my ancestors wills in the Index to Perogative Wills book - now how do I get the will (or the extract as I believe the originals are gone)? Amy

Are you familiar with Richard Davis' book "William Smith O'Brien: Ireland-1848-Tasmania? The first chapter gives a pretty good rundown of the O'Brien history in Ireland. If you don't have it, it was published in Ireland by Geography Publications, Kennington Road, Tmepleogue, Dublin 6W, Copyright 1989. Hope this is of some help... Joanne
I am researching Matthew Kirk (his father is James Kirk) who married Grace Johnson. They are both from Atrium. If anyone else is researching this family, I would love to compare notes. Thanks Cathy Carter in GA chase16@aol.com
Regarding the virus warning......the only way you can get a virus is to open a file with an attachment, and it has to be an executable attachment. The new AOL has a window that will open if you start to open a file with an attachment that says something like, downloading files from unknown sources could contain viruses, do you wish to proceed? There is no reason to worry about just opening up an e-mail. Desiree

I am trying to find information on a Rev Timothy Sheedy who was supposedly shot in chains before leaving British Waters. This may have been c 1800. Possibly from Clare,Limerick or Tipperary. Would anyone know where can i start. I gather if he was in chains he must have been arrested - would there be records for same? And also - would there be records of his becoming a priest? Hello yourself! there is a wild storm brewing outside and it is blowing a gale. My mother is a left brain and left handed and I am right both and we never think the same way but end up at the same conclusion. Her thinking often puzzles me. I hated sowing at school - i just could never get it - and one dayI was watching my sister in law sow - she is brilliant at it - and I was watching her thread the machine and suddenly the proverbial light globe lit up over head. - I had been trying to thread the machine all those years in a left handed fashion but from a right handed position - so THAT was why the damn thread kept breaking and why i could never work the damn thing!! yes - have found genforum and have heaps of notes up - also local names which I really like. Not that many visit there - i dont know why - it has some good resources. i only stuck this on while I am whittling away at this damn home page. i have all the info ready to go - but our provider wants between 500 and 1000 Oz dollars to put it up - so I have to find someone to help me aaarrrrrrghhhhh. i hate that. you can never rely on men. ANyway - i would just rather research but I will guess I will have to do it my bloody self!! What sort of shop is it?
