I am seeking information about my grandfather's family. He was SAMUEL JONES and he was born in Dublin on June 18th 1864 to WILLIAM JONES & MARY (nee) PERSSE. Family history relates that Mary died giving birth to him so I must assume her date of death is 18/06/1864. William is said to have died not long afterwards from pneumonia brought on while helping to rescue horses trapped in their stables during a flood. There are thought to have been two older brothers of Samuel, Robert and Jack, and the boys were brought up by their grandmother and an aunt. Samuel later came to Australia and he was married in Fremantle, Western Australia on 13 July 1898, and it's from that marriage certificate that I found parents names and his date of birth. Purchasing certificates for my queries would be very costly, and living in Western Australia makes it very nearly impossible to check records in Dublin's Records Office. Any advice or assistance you can offer would be VERY welcome. Ever hopeful - Wendy McGillivray.

    2. Hi, Is anyone else having trouble with billing from ancestry.com.uk? I tried the trial offer and on Aug. 2 sent an email to their internationalcancelsonly address. Today I have received an email thanking me for the subscription and telling me I am being billed! There is not enough in their records for Ireland. My family left before 1860 and their records are sketchy for Ireland, to say the least. Anyone else being billed? Rita
