Hi Herb, Do you know the identity of William H FERRIS's parents or the location of his birth? I have a William H FERRIS who is the son of Leonard & Catherine [maiden name unknown to me] FERRIS, Jr. My William H is listed as the 4 year old child of this couple in the 1850 Wayne Co., NY Census. The father, Leonard FERRIS, Jr died in 1852 and I have been unable to locate the widow Catherine FERRIS or the son William H FERRIS in later census's in western NY--have no idea where they went or what became of them. Leonard FERRIS, Jr would have been born abt 1814/16 in Dutchess County, NY and migrated to western NY as a child with his parents and multiple siblings. Mary Sorensen
