Hi Wanda and fellow listers Now how can one ignore such a nice welcome - first list I have come across who does this - many thanks and much appreciated! My Ferris/Ferries line (short as it is) come from around the Strachan, Kincardineshire - Birse, Aberdeenshire way. Helen Ferries (1824 - 1875) born Strachan married Alexander Emslie (1807 - 1899) Her parents were James Ferries (1786 - 1857) and Margaret Ross (1797 - 1869) also from Strachan. (Children of this family: Mary 1819, Janet 1822, above Helen 1824, James 1826, Jane 1830, Betty 1834) Parents of James were Alexander Ferries (parish of Birse) and Janet Aitken (parish of Lumphanan) married June 1771. To complicant this family even further Jane Ferries (1744) - sister to the James Ferries (1786) married a William Emslie, father of the above Alexander!! If you can sort all this out, I would be very interested to contact anyone researching this line.
