    1. [FERRIS-L] A note from your listmanager
    2. Wanda Rabb
    3. Hello! I guess you all wondered why you didn't appear to have a listmanager.....I just realized that I wasn't automatically subscribed to the list when I adopted this new surname list! I hope you have been getting along fine without my assistance! As some of you may be aware, I began a FARRIS-L several years ago and we have always addressed all variations of spelling of the Farris, Faris, Faires, Ferris, etc. surname. Recently, Rootsweb added what they call the "cluster surnames" which essentially created new forums for some of the spellings. With some surnames, this is appropriate, whereas with others, I am not sure. At any rate, I volunteered to "adopt" the FAIRES-L and hope this will become a useful medium for us all to discuss our research. I hope this does not "dilute" our efforts, rather offers a means of enhancing our research. We have a very active list (Farris-L) with over 200 researchers, so if this list doesn't serve your purposes, you might wish to subscribe to the Farris-L. Please feel free to visit my web site where I have attempted to have a central location for links and information on this surname. If you have a web site that you would like to see included, please let me know. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Cottage/1882/farrismain.html I haven't had an opportunity yet to add links to the newly created GenConnect Boards for the FERRIS surname. You may find those at: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/f/e/FERRIS/queries http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/f/e/FERRIS/obituaries http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/f/e/FERRIS/bible_records http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/f/e/FERRIS/biographies http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/f/e/FERRIS/deeds http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/f/e/FERRIS/pensions http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/f/e/FERRIS/wills If I can be of assistance, please let me know.
