    3. Hi there Bill! I've been on this list for ages, and I'm not sure I've ever seen another member who is researching the HOWE family. My HOWEs lived in to townland of Claranagh, near Tempo. The earliest ancestor known to date is Oliver HOWE (1809-1891) who married Jane THOMPSON (1819-1897). Three of the HOWE boys, Oliver, Robert and Joseph, left for Ontario, Canada about 1881. A daughter, Mary Howe, and likely her twin, William Howe, left for New York City about the same time. Later, a sister Jane Howe followed them to New York City. Several of the other children stayed behind in Fermanagh. The family was a member of the Church of Ireland, and back several years ago I wrote the church in Tempo and received information about the children's baptisms. I also have a number of letters that were written by the family in Ireland and Canada, to my ancestor Mary (Howe) Hayden in New York City. At times, the letters were written by a teenage niece, who included a lot of the local gossip -- making the letters rich with information! My tree can be found here: https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/28350962/person/12640932240/facts While I do not recognize the names in your post, but then again I do not have information for all of the Howe children. There is a chance that the two families might somehow be related. For example, there is a son James Howe who married an Elizabeth (surname unknown). By any chance, have you done DNA testing? We have descendants from a number of the Howe branches who have tested, and might be able to rule in a connection using DNA. I am also in touch with a woman in Belfast who is a Howe descendant, who claims to descend from our family. We are currently working to confirm that her family links into mine. I look forward to hearing from you! 3. PS: In an effort to identify records related to my family, I have also added profiles for many other HOWEs. So be sure to look at the surname listing for my tree for other HOWEs.
