    3. Greetings all We will be heading across the pond in an effort to gain some info on our ancestors. 1st to Fermanagh then to Derry. I have 2 questions: Do any of you know of great B & B's in either county where we can stay? I have no idea what the distance is between the 2...maybe Co. Tyrone would be a good option? AND...Miss Viola, we would like to look you up when we get there. Would that be ok? Can I email you directly? Thanks so much!! Kate Sent from my iPhone

    3. We are heading there mid September. I can email you the exact dates that we will be getting there, as we will be arriving from Scotland but I’m unsure which day. We will meet you where ever is best for you—not a problem. Maybe we could take you to lunch. 3. Kate, Riverside Farm B&B, on the Derrylin Road is a Home From Home and many Golders have stayed there. Molly mothers everybody, including me, and she and I have been friends for many years. It is about 2 miles out of Enniskillen and close to The Moorings Restaurant, The Villiage Inn, and about 3 Miles from The SHEELING Lace Museum and Cafe at Bellanaleck. When we know the dates you'll be in Fermanagh we will arrange to meet. 3. Kate LY after sharing two weeks in the south with Family, my Bride and I headed north via Tara to find our Darling Matriarch. We stayed with Molly as Vi suggested. Recommend Riverside as a good base location to explore Enny, Loch Erne, Boho, Beleek etc. Molly's breakfast Ab/Fab. Vi picked us up each morning in her Ford Focus and we headed into the heart of Fermangh eventually discovering my Bride's McCaffrey Ancestral farm. You wiill find every minute spent with Vi to be laugh filled, educational, pure joy...Time will pass way too quickly. Our next visit with Vi, I intend to bring a voice recorder...which I wish I would have done :-( After spending three days with her we headed up to Donegal to 'recover' on the Strand a couple of days then north to Derry, the Causeway, Bushmills et al before swinging down to Belfast. A few days there then hopped over to Edinburgh which was Grand. A few days there then north to my Scottish Ancestral home at Kirremuir. A few days there with a couple of Highland side trips, Braemar, Balmoral and the spectacular surrounds...returning to Dublin to recover before heading home. We were 'across the Pond. 32 days...it went by in a blurrrrr. Record everything you can !! May the Weather Goddess smile on you....we had amazing good fortune....very little rain. When we were on Dingle Peninsula April 16-19...bright sun, cloudless sky...people(not us) swimming in the Ocean ! It was hard to leave there especially after having discovered our Grandson's (travelling with us) Family farm at Ballyandreen, overlooking Dingle Bay. Just realized I'm gettin carried away here....You get the idea...you're gonna be 'Over the Moon' and you won't wanna go home Safe Travels Rob in MA Shire's > On June 8, 2018 at 4:58 AM Viola Wiggins wrote: > > > Kate, > Riverside Farm B&B, on the Derrylin Road is a Home From Home and many Golders have stayed there. 3. Kate, If you go to Edinburgh Things to do. Walk up to the Castle and look out over the Firth of Forth and see the Mariner's Ball. If you do this about 12.58pm watch it. When the "One O'Clock Gun goes off, the Ball drops. The first time I was shown that spectacle no mention was made of the Gun and I nearly jumped out of my skin. See Greyfriars Bobby, which was the wee dog faithful to his master who is buried in Greyfriars Graveyard. Bobby lay on his master's grave and every day when the Gun went off he made his way to the Candle market for his lunch before returning to the grave. That dog was given the Freedom of Edinburgh for his faithfulness. (Read the Story) See The Heart Of Midlothian. A heart picked out in the Pavement with Cobbles. Tradition says you should spit on the Heart for Good Luck. See the Forth Bridge, at one time the greatest Engineering feat in the World. It is said that painting it takes 365 days. So there is always painters working on it as it requires annual attention because of the Salty spray affecting the metal. The windiest place to stand is at the top of the steps at Waverly Station, beside the Waverly Gardens off Princes Street. The Edinburgh Tattoo is Held in September. That would be an enjoyable evening if you could be there. Edinburgh and the surrounding area is steeped in history and lore. Regards Viola
