Can someone help me find a marriage record for Henry Gibson and Anne Stephenson in county Fermanagh around 1843? Possibly in Drumkeeran parish. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Brandt
Brandt, Drumkeeran came under the Ballyshnnon Registration District following Civil Registration commenced. I have seen entries for Baptisms from Drumkeeran listed under Ballyshannon in the past,. I searched irishgenealogy.ie for marriage both names under Enniskillen, Ballyshannon and Manorhamilton Reg Districts hoping to Double match the names where the Image was not available, but did not find them. What are you basing your information on? Marriages traditionally took place in the Parish of the Bride. That Register may not now exist and may have been burned in the attack on the GPO in Dublin in 1922. Otherwise it requires the foot on the ground. What was Henry Gibson's Occupation? Did they have children born in Ireland? Some families followed traditional naming patterns. So if their first son was Robert, searching for a Robert Stephenson's address may establish Anne's birth Townland. If second son was Robert, finding a Townland under a Robert Gibson may pinpoint Henry's birth Townland.
