Hi Marge I have been a member since about 1999, except when I accidentally get deleted or do it myself by pushing wrong link! My great aunt said that her grandparents Hugh McDonnell and Bessie Maguire, married RC in Newtownbutler had 13 children. They were laborers in southern Fermanagh so no land records until purchase in 1880’s. Over the years with resources suggested here I have filled out 9/13 of family. One cousin suggested a younger sister may have married a “man from Monaghan!” Without a name I thought it impossible but when civil registrations became available I found her by estimated date of birth and looking for a marriage of the last name female McDonnell. It worked and she was married to a man actually from Cavan but in Clones RC Church. She actually wound up in mental hospital in Monaghan for most of her life after a succession of deaths of newborn children with what we would call post partum depression. I am missing her one surviving child a Darby from Cavan but not showing in any records, census, etc. Irish genealogy is not for the faint of heart. I am now trying to fill in descending branches which I have found even more difficult at times with repeated first names and travel back and forth to Scotland, some went and stayed and some did not. I have been successful in finding and meeting cousins in Lisnaskea, Newry, and Glasgow. All were unaware of the existence of the others. Also working on dna genetic genealogy with some small successes. Janet Morgan
