Yes, I've seen similar. My Rosanna McCaffrey entered the Daughters of Charity in Emmitsburg, MD. Her parents given as Thomas McCaffrey and Rosanna Stephenson. On other records it is Stinson, sometimes STEENSON. So the two are interchangeable.
