"One very obvious being Tattinalee Tattenfree [the same townland] Viola" This is wrong, they are in fact two totally separate although adjoining townlands, not the same townland. I should know, I grew up there! Both part of Colebrooke Estate originally. In speech Tattinfree in my lifetime and my parents was always pronounced Tattinafree but spelled with no middle "a" on maps. Tattinalee was on the far side of the bog and accessed from a completely different road. You're rarely wrong Viola, but this was my turf, literally! Linda Swindle
