Josephone Tey's "Daughter of Time" is a brilliant mystery story. I have read it twice. SEE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Daughter_of_Time It would make a great movie. Sometimes fiction tells a truth that is otherwise missed. I find that I learn a lot while reading Irish fiction as well. Also, the methods that the detective uses in her book to unearth historical truth are some of the methods that all of us could benefit from considering. This was and is a terrific book. Josephine Tey wrote detective fiction, but her works were not pot-boilers. She actually produced literature, and if I'm remembering correctly, she had academic credentials for teaching.
