Thank you for explaining this, Dave, My g-grandfather Felix Dolan did apply in 1908 for a pension of 10/- pw and it was granted, but I believed it was granted by the Australian Government, not UK! Under that circumstance, there must be a mountain of records somewhere in UK containing vital information. I found g-grandad's application listing in the State Archives here in Brisbane. Dee.. you should check Library for book (interloan?) by Josephine Masterson: /Ireland Ireland 1841/1851 Census Abstracts (Northern Ireland). He's not in Book 1. / *The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland* (PRONI) holds Census Search Forms for people living in Antrim, Armagh, Cavan, Derry, Donegal, Down, Fermanagh, Monaghan and Tyrone at the time of their pension applications and include those who had been born or spent their childhood in other counties. They are available on microfilm in PRONI's self-service microfilm room,/ / /This is NOT true.. a pile that should be at PRONI are still in Dublin / /AND / /PRONI have a pile that should be in Dublin. / / / /The /two books by Josephine Masterson: /Ireland 1841/1851 Census Abstracts (Republic of Ireland) and Ireland 1841/1851 Census Abstracts (Northern Ireland) are best until PRONI put their lot on line too!! They have some even for Kerry! / / / On 11/06/2015 10:00, Dee Byster-Graham wrote: > Thank you for explaining this, Dave, > > My g-grandfather Felix Dolan did apply in 1908 for a pension of 10/- pw and > it was granted, but I believed it was granted by the Australian Government, > not UK! > Under that circumstance, there must be a mountain of records somewhere in UK > containing vital information.
