To all Fermanagh Golders, Mapillary is a crowd sourced project which takes geo-tagged photographs and stitches them together. It works very like Streetview with one important difference, it can go places the StreetView Cars cant! I believe that this could be a very interesting tool for creating a "virtual world" of sites in Co Fermanagh. Imagine being able to virtually walk around the graveyard your ancestor is buried and zoom in on the head stone etc. Or visit places in advance of your trip to Fermanagh. So far I have been waiting on the weather to improve, but Ill show you a sequence I took at Enniskillen Castle in March. http://www.mapillary.com/map/imgl/9lZOkYob0U8R0pyxIgVBMA/photo You can use the little circles in the image to rotate the view around. While this project is very young and has still got many teething issues, I can see it becoming a very useful tool. I initially started by creating an image sequence around Killyfole Lough, as a way of showing potential visitors what it is like. Here is link to the sequence http://www.mapillary.com/map/imgl/sHFQrivszr6TvBZqiMubLA/photo You use the arrows on the top left to navigate the sequence. So what other places would you like to see? Do you have an iPhone/Android smart phone and want to help capture places? Clive
