Hi, Until April 28 there is a sale on at FTDNA for several tests. I'd like to buy one but no-one there is answering the emails that I and a friend have sent them, and although they say they take PayPal, there is no provision online for doing so. Also I tried ringing them from Australia and the line provided on their website is unconnected. A friend and I both want to buy 4 tests between us but can't believe no-one there has now answered our separate inquiries in four days. Has anyone else had trouble contacting FTDNA? (Not living in the US doesn't help! We also looked at 23 and me, and they have a fabulous service, and respond almost immediately but the prices at FTDNA are very good, otherwise I'd drop them. Any thoughts appreciated. We only have till Saturday to purchase, and my other option is to sit up till 1 am and ring them but as the line is disconnected, that is pointless. Help! Hi Eilish, That is a pain! Hope you get through soon. It sounds like they may have gone out of business, 4 days is a long time to not man the phone. My daughter Joanne bought me one from Ancestry, and one for herself, about 2 months ago. We finally managed to mail yesterday, the delay was due to the radium treatment - Ancestry advised to wait the three months. It was the basic test they have I think, and I shall redo it later to more markers probably with another organization. It will be fun to have, not expecting any surprises. Hi Eilish, I sent my DNA to FTDNA during February, and got my results back last week, so I'm sure all's well in regard to the company. It's certainly a well-respected one. I've also had notifications this week of "matches", so I can't give any advice as to "why" you can't get onto them. I'm on FTDNA. They can be slower than the second coming, but the others don't offer anything of use to me. I don't quite know what to suggest for your contact problems. Is the country code right? 1 or 01 I think. Try a different search engine? I have Safari and Firefox, and often if a site doesn't work properly on one it will on the other.
