    1. FERMANAGH-GOLD BOOTH, COULTER and ADAMS

    3. I am researching BOOTH, COULTER and ADAMS in County Fermanagh. My great grandfather is Robert Coulter Booth born 20 Aug 1845 in Ratoran and baptised in Knockmanaul Methodist Church in Magheracross Parish, County Fermanagh. His parents were James Booth (born about 1824 possibly in Ferney the son of George Booth c 1806-? and Jane Morris c 1802-?) and Jane Coulter born about 1824. Robert left Ireland in November 1866 and migrated to Australia. James was in the army for 20 years and spent about 10 years in India during the Indian Mutiny. Jane died in India about 1865 and James returned to Enniskillen where he remarried in Irvinestown, County Fermanagh. I have not been able to find any record of Jane's birth, marriage or death. Through various immigration records I have found that Robert's cousins were Alexander Adams, Jane Adams and Eliza Coulter. Alexander Adams was born in Ballydoulagh, Enniskillen and baptised on 14 Sep 1835 Magheracross Church of Ireland in County Fermanagh. His parents were John Adams and Margaret Coulter. Alexander migrated to Australia in 1856 and his parents were recorded as living in Magheracross. Jane Adams, Alexander's sister, was born about 1842 (records not found yet) and migrated to Australia in 1865. At that time it was recorded that Margaret had died and John was living in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. I have not yet found the birth, marriage or death records of either John or Margaret. Eliza Coulter was born in about 1838 I believe in Enniskillen and migrated to Australia in 1859 and her parents are listed as David and Jane, both dead. I have not been able to find any further details in Ireland for Eliza, David or Jane Coulter. I have made the assumption that Jane, Margaret and David are siblings but am trying to find proof of this and also who their parents are. Robyn Booth

    3. Robyn There are 5 listings for BOOTH in our Lakeland (Telephone) Directory. All around Kesh, Ballinamallard and Enniskillen. COULTER names are numerous. But ADAMS have 12 listed. I'll transfer this to my desk top and send you a list of Booth and Adams. One family of BOOTH lived in Ballinamallard across the Street from my Grandmother. I have a Cousin who would know who was who in Ballinamallard, but she has just entered into a care home. At 92 and a Gt Gmother she is no longer able to live alone in her own home, but her mind is still as sharp as a pin. I hope to visit her next Wednesday and will ask her about that Booth family. Viola
