Some independent Censii were actually done by Ministers too in order to find out how many should be paying tithes. They actually did everyone regardless of religion in the Parish so they could work out how much they should collect. I posted about them a while back with Parishes, Dates etc and should be in Archives and on Clogher Record.. Andrew Hamilton, was forced to flee at the rebellion in 1641. In 1660 he returned and petitioned to the authorities "that he was in 1640 by Letters Patent presented and inducted into the Parish of Kilskeery, in Co. Tyrone, and Magheracross in Co. Fermanagh, and possessed them till expelled by the rebellion". In his absence Kilskeery is disposed of to Mr. James Graham, and Magheracross to Mr. Robert Auld. Magheracross was united to Kilskeery on 30 Jan., 1629 Magheracross was disunited from Kilskeery on 28 May, 1766 DH On 21/03/2016 07:01, [email protected] wrote: > Re: FERMANAGH-GOLD 1766 Religious Census - only Derryvullan > North?. > To: Janet Cassidy via<[email protected]> > Message-ID:<[email protected]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 > >> >A marvellous resource for all queries. > The genealogy 'bible'http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/ >> > >> >http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/1766-religious-census.html > Thank you so much Dave for your above toolkit link. > It showed me the Magheracross/Kilskeery 1766 Religious census records haven?t survived!! > > This means it?s still possible the Moffit family may have lived in Magheracross in 1766 & the > 1788 William Moffatt may still link back to the 1721 William Moffit on the Archdale Estate. > I?ll just have to try & find another way to link these two dates. > > Any suggestions?? > Thanks again Dave, > Carole E. >> > --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus
