Shirley, The split was most likely the result of an ecclesiastical reshuffle of Dioceses and parishes. Just cannot remember when or why that happened but my uncles and my mother used to discuss it when I was a small child. Uncle Bob lived in Trillick which they argued was in Fermanagh before it was in Tyrone. Pettigo was another town divided between two counties Fermanagh and Donegal. Viola
